Prospective Students

Glad to see you're interested in the program here at UW-Eau Claire!

We have a strong tradition of excellence in musical performance and achievement in the music field, both while students are in residence here at the University and after graduation.  Former students are active and successful working in instrumental music education settings, as professional musicians, and working in the music industry.  Regardless of your specific interest relative to professional preparation, we are equipped to help you.

In order to begin the process of enrolling at The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, visit our Admissions Office web page for general information about University admissions policies, procedures and forms.  You must be admitted to the University before you can be accepted by the Department of Music and Theatre Arts.  Understand that acceptance to the University is necessary before you can be accepted by our Department and that acceptance by our Department (which can happen on a provisional basis prior to University acceptance) is only valid upon your acceptance by the University.

Go to the Department of Music and Theatre Arts web page and find the dates for admission and scholarship auditions for the academic year.  Fill out the electronic form to register for an audition date, and e-mail it back to us.  It is HIGHLY recommended that you plan to audition in November if at all possible.  The number of spots in the percussion studio is limited, and they tend to fill up early.  Further, scholarship monies are very limited.  Your best chance to receive scholarship assistance comes by auditioning in November.  You will find suggested repertoire for auditions on the Department website as well.  Note that these are only suggestions - if you are considering other repertoire, contact me if you have questions about its suitability.

You can also contact me to set up a campus visit.  You and your parents will have the opportunity to visit and get to know me, as well as for me to get to know you.  You might wish to have a lesson, attend some classes, tour our facilities, and observe some of our ensemble rehearsals and maybe get to sit in as well.  I would like for you to see our school in action and to have the chance to talk to current students and faculty, as well as to have the opportunity to have as many of your questions as possible answered in person.

You can utilize the Contact Menu on this page to get in touch with me.

I look forward to hearing from you!
